This Forest is situated in Slieve Aught Mountains Spa in Cloonusker, off the townland Gortaderry, Co. Clare. This site is south facing and hosts the Corra river on its northern boundary. The forest was planted in the early Nineties, plot 1 was planted in 1993, plot 2 was planted in 1995. Species planted are 90% Sitka Spruce and 10% Lodge Pole pine. Located in Gortaderry, Co. Clare A Grant aided forest road network is in place. The location of this site hosts a wide range of long-term opportunities ranging from Continuous Cover Forestry (CCF), to Eco-Tourism. Birds of prey that are on site are the Hen Harrier (Circus Cyanceus) and Merlin (Falco Columbarius).
